Merle Kröger and Rubaica Jaliwala were invited to the Amo Salon of the Institute for European Ethnology to present The Fifth Wall, a digital archive of the work of journalist and filmmaker Navina Sundaram (1945-2022), and a thematic walk through the archive along the axis of decolonization. Sundaram brought decolonial issues of class, gender, racism and marginalisation into the discussion very early on in over 40 years of television work in Germany. Her critical interest lay in politics in Germany and India.

The Amo Salon of the Institute for European Ethnology is dedicated to the new namesake of the street on which it is located: Anton Wilhelm Amo, Afro-German philosopher of enlightenment of the 18th century. In keeping with his anti-racist spirit, the Amo Salon is a place for trans-academic exchange with the public on questions of decolonisation and conviviality in the urban society. The Amo Salon was set up and is curated by the Amo Collective Berlin.
